Hello. I was licensed in Nov. 2009. I took both the Tech and the General exam at the same time and look forward to working on my Extra. My original call was KB1TIW and I have changed it to K1RAX. I passed the Extra exam on 3/9/2013 and can now chase some more DX :)

I was using an old desktop for logging purposes (HRD and some tinkering with digital modes) but that PC is having some issues so I've switched to using a Mac with MacloggerDX software for logging purposes. I still like the HRDnet popup below and export logs to it often but it won't instantly reflect my latest contacts. I'm also using clublog, LoTW, and eQSL.

I was in the Navy for 10 years and now work at a telecommunications company. I've always been interested in electronics and even some CB and shortwave listening in the past. I drifted away from the radio world in the early 1990's until a friend recently rekindled my interest when I saw his ham shack. Thanks WB2VVV!!

I return all QSL's. I was off the air for almost 2 years and had a log problem. If I owe you a card please email me and I'll get one out. My QSL cards tend to include something I've photographed and not necessarily something local to CT. I thought sharing my photographs would be more fun than just having a plain card!

I am moving to New Mexico at the beginning of 2014!  I'll have the mobile running during the drive cross country and probably some infrequent use until I can get an antenna up at the new QTH I

I do run mobile sometimes. If you work me mobile please use K1RAX/M for LoTW and eQSL. I have them both setup to recognize the /M

My website is and I've also started (not much there yet). My photography website is

setup mobile for 75M

My QSL Cards are things I've photographed (not necessarily local to my QTH)

Looking forward to talking with you.
