Holder of a Canadian Advanced Amateur Certificate as well as a Marine Radio Operator's Certificate. Enjoys DXing on HF as well as Rag Chewing on both HF and VHF. A Past President of the Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateurs (SONRA). Currently serves as the Director of The Atlantic Region for the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC).
Other hobbies include sailing, enjoying our little Miata, scouting and working with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Together with family and friends, cruises a 30 ft. C&C Sloop "IdlEase" in eastern Canadian coastal waters. Is a member of the national Canadian Power and Sailing Amateur Radio Roster (Hams) and is a past Commodore of Terra Nova Yacht Club (TNYC).
Has blended amateur radio and scouting throughout a long, enjoyable and continuing history with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and with Scouts Canada. Past Provincial Commissioner, Scouts Canada. Currently manages VO1BZM, the Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateur's (SONRA) official Marconi site station located in the Admiralty House Museum and through this station encourages the participation of youth, the public generally and tourism in amateur radio.
