JOHN L GETZ
ANY QSL REQUESTS RECEIVED AFTER SEPTEMBER 12, 2017 WILL BE ANSWERED IN EARLY 2018.
Another of my hobbies is scuba diving. I have been scuba diving and playing radio since 1963 when I was 13 years old. I like to combine both hobbies by traveling to the Caribbean.
AD8J in action
I was operating from the Cayman Islands, March 11-18, 2017 using the call ZF2AG. QSL cards are available. The log has been uploaded to LOTW. Paper QSL requests should go to my home QTH with a S.A.S.E. DX stations should include US stamps for $1.15, $2.00 US cash or a newerIRC.
I was operating as AD8J/HR9, October 30 - November 12, 2016 and May 18 - June 3, 2017from the island of Guanaja, Bay Islands, Honduras (IOTA NA-057) using wire antennas. 5,262 contacts were made in 2016 and 5.036 were made in 2017. A big effort was made to work JA's during both operations. If you would like to check out the operating location, go to: http://www.dunbarrock.com/ All logs have been uploaded to LOTW and Clublog. Make sure you enter the call as AD8J/HR9 and not the other way around. Paper QSL requests should go to my home QTH with a S.A.S.E. DX stations should include US stamps for $1.15, $2.00 US cash or a newerIRC.
My original calls were WN4RIJ and WA4RIJ. I have operated from many of the islands in the Caribbean as well as from Europe and the Pacific. I am now living in a condo where Ican't put up any antennas, I've spent a lot of timeoperating mobile and portable in state QSO parties. A few years ago I purchased 3/4 of an acre, 20 minutes away, andconstructed a remote station. The main antenna is a SteppIR DB-36 at at 21 meters. There are also 1/4 wave inverted L's for 80 and 160. Both have elevated radials and share the same feedline. An inverted Vee is used for 75 meters. The rig is a Kenwood TS-480SAT driving an Acom 2000A. Everything is controled over the Internet. Presently a member of the South East Contest Club and the NCDXCC. Main radio interests are operating contests and looking for the final four DXCC countries.
Thisis the remote site. My closest neighbors are cows.
Many years, my birthday falls on SS Phone weekend. The XYL provides a birthday dessert !!!
