Born November 1960, first QSO was made in November 1975 from club station UK2GJB. Ex SWL UQ2-037-135, also active from another club station UK2GCB. Than long break - QRT for almost 20 years for a lot of professional activities. Artistic Director & Chief Conductor for 2 musical organizations in Latvia - Sinfonietta Riga (ex Riga Chamber Players) and Riga Festival Orchestra as well as oboe and chamber music professor of Latvian Academy of Music. Recording producer and engineer of many classical CD's.

Licenced as YL3GDQ in December 2004, from April 2006 - YL3DQ, YL5T in contests. In November 2008 special call YL90DQ was in the air. My basic activities are CW and contesting. Member of the board of Latvian Radio Amateur League.

Equipment: ICOM IC-7700, 28m tower (thanks to YL2PA!) with Prosistel rotator, Superloop™ for 80m, OPTIBEAM 17-4 + JP 2000 tribander (stacked), Inverted V & K9AY loops for 160m, APPLE Powerbook 17' + cocoaModem software, HamRadioDeluxe & N1MM contest logger on PC ...and a few small black boxes connecting all this together.

Absolutely greatest experience so far was to be a member of D4C team with claimed victory in CQ WW 2012 CW M/M.

QSL 100%, except band and mode dupes. For direct requests, please include GS or valid IRCs. If no postage included cards will be answered via bureau. Using LoTW but prefer old and good paper QSLs.

About August 2012 operation from OH0:

very simple setup with IC7700 + G5RV hanging from the trees about 10 meters up. Log already uploaded to LotW, paper QSLs are back from print also. QSLs via home call. Thanks to all for calling me!
