This callsign is used by a group of Worked All Britain enthusiasts, local to the county of Leicestershire in central England. It will only generally be active for WAB events, although it may be used on other occasions, such as contests, when a group callsign is needed.

Between the 9th & 19th October 2009, this callsign will be hopefully in use from the Isles of Scilly, EU-011. The operators will be Judith, G4IAQ and Dave, G4IAR. See their individual entries for their WAB and BARLS "collectables"

Some lighthouse activity will be also undertaken on behalf of The British Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society, (BARLS).

We do not support and we will have no connection with so called Amateur Radio Lighthouse groups charging $20 a year for membership. Check out the bottom of their legal page, then make your minds up as to where this money is going.

Its mascot - a stuffed lion called "Aslam" (a well known typing error), pictured, accompanies the operators on their trips.

 

Although many of it's individual members belong to the RSGB, the group is not affiliated and therefore cannot use the QSL bureau.

Non-UK stations who are WAB or BARLS members need NOT enclose $2, please quote WAB book number or BARLS membership number on your QSL card.
