This is a photo of me taken at the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (NWHCM) orphanage.  I have made eight two-week mission trips to Haiti and I am thankful that I have been able to operate Ham Radio while there at the mission.  For information about the mission visit www.nwhcm.org .

I personally manage QSLs for all my calls including the following DX trips. I PREFER to QSL direct or via LoTW, but will QSL via BURO with lower priority. Cards received without a self addressed stamped envelope, or without a self addressed envelope and an IRC or adequate money for postage will be returned via the BURO.

I was first licensed in 1964 as WA4VQD. I was introduced to ham radio while serving as a communications electronics technician in the US Air Force. I retired from the USAF as an officer after spending twenty years in the military. I also have another twenty years experience in the information technology area.

I met my wife Joyce-WA4OMS at Florida State University while we were both in college. We have two children Ron-N4TXR and Sarah-KD4DHS. They were each licensed when they were twelve years old.

I am currently a member of the Platinum Coast ARS (www.PCARS.org ), the ARRL (www.ARRL.org), the Florida Contest Group (www.floridacontestgroup.org), the Florida East Coast DX Club (www.freewebs.com/fecdx) and the Harris-Intersil Amateur Radio Club.  I am an active DXer and contester. I also support the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES).  I am an Assistant Emergency Coordinator (AEC) in Brevard County, Florida and I have provided emergency communications in American Red Cross and Brevard County shelters during hurricanes and fires.  I have participated in several DXpeditions and contests including:
