ΝORMANDY - 65 YEAR FROM THE LANDING OPERATION 

Special Callsing SY2DDAY •   4 – 7 June 2009

In the morning of the 6th of June 1944 during WWII, on the beach of Normandy took place the greatest landing operation in history, with the participation of seven countries. Greece participated with 2 warships (photo – qsl card : F89/ TOBAZIS) and 4 commercial freighter. In recollection of  this event,  team of radio amateurs from Veria (SV2/Macedonia region) they decided to proceed to the transmission of the special callsign SY2DDAY from 00:01 UTC June 4^th until 23:59 UTC June 7^th. .

The broadcasting place in all modes and all bands.
