9G     - Rob, PA3DEW and Vincent, PA3FQX will  be  back  to  Ghana  on  1-20
         March. They will be active again as 9G1AA from the Dormaa  Hospital
         as time permits. QSL via PA3ERA, direct or bureau. [TNX PA3AWW]
C5     - Willy, ON4AVT will be active as C5AVT from near Banjul, The  Gambia
         between 28 February and 20 March. He will operate PSK only,  mainly
         on 15 metres. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.
C6     - George, K4IIO (GM0IIO) will be active as C6AZZ from the Bahamas  on
         1-8 March. He will participate in the ARRL DX  SSB  Contest  on  20
         metres; before and after the contest he will operate mainly  CW  on
         160-6 metres. QSL via K4IIO, direct only. [TNX NG3K]
CE     - Marco, CE1TBN has been forced to cancel this weekend's trip to  Las
         Huichas Island (SA-064) [425DXN  1085]  as  "roads  and  ports  are
         blocked" and there is no way for him  to  reach  Puerto  Chacabuco.

CY9    - CY9M is the callsign to be used from St Paul Island  [425DXN  1085]
         this summer. Ten operators will be active on all  bands  and  modes
         from 26 July  through  1  August.  QSL  via  M0URX.
FG     - Michel, F6GWV and Gildas,  F6HMQ  will  be  active  as  TO11A  from
         Guadeloupe (NA-102) on 2-16 March, ARRL DX  SSB  Contest  included.
         They also plan to be QRV on 6 metres. QSL via F6HMQ. [TNX DX World]
J3     - Harry, AC8G will be active as  J37K  from  Grenada  on  1-4  March.
         Since he will be in the ARRL SSB contest  during  the  weekend,  he
         plans to work non-USA/Canadian stations on 1-2  March.  QSL  direct
         to AC8G. Logs will be uploaded to  LoTW  shortly  after  return  to

KH0    - Look for AH0/AE6YW to be active from from Saipan (OC-086)  from  29
         February to 6 March. He  will  be  QRV  on  80-6  metres.  QSL  via
         JA6GMC. [TNX DX World]
HR & TG- Andrei, NC2N will be active  as  TG7/NC2N  from  Guatemala  on  3-8
         March (ARRL DX SSB Contest included) and as HR5/NC2N from  Honduras
         on 9-12 March. He will operate holiday style on  80-10  metres  CW,
         RTTY and SSB. He will upload his logs to LoTW as soon as  possible;
         paper QSLs via W3HNK or RW6HS. [TNX DX World]
PA     - Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Open  Air  Museum
         in Arnhem, Fred PA0FAW will be active as PA100NOM  on  1-28  March.

PJ7    - Tom, AA9A will be active as PJ7/AA9A from Sint Maarten (NA-105)  on
         3-17 March. He will operate holiday style on 40-10  metres  CW  and
         SSB. QSL via AA9A and LoTW. [TNX The Daily DX]
V3     - Guenter, DL2AYK will  be  active  as  V31YK  from  Belize  from  27
         February to 11 March,  including  an  entry  in  the  ARRL  DX  SSB
         Contest. He will operate CW, SSB, RTTY and possibly some  PSK31  on
         80-10 metres, maybe on 6m as well. QSL via  home  call,  direct  or

V4     - Once again John, W5JON will be  active  as  V47JA  from  St.  Kitts
         (NA-104) from 28 February to 28 March. He will operate SSB on  80-6
         metres, and will participate in both the ARRL DX SSB  and  WPX  SSB
         contests as a SOAB  entrant.  His  wife  Cathy  will  also  operate
         occasionally as V47HAM. All QSLs via W5JON. [TNX NG3K]
V7     - Jim, K4FW will be working on Kwajalein (OC-028),  Marshall  Islands
         starting in March. He plans to be  active  in  his  spare  time  as
         either V73FW or V7/K4FW from the local club station. QSL via  K4FW,

VP2M   - Norbert DL2RNS  (VP2MSN),  Olaf  DL7JOM  (VP2MOM)  and  Rudi  DM2XO
         (VP2MXO) will be active from Montserrat (NA-103) from  27  February
         to 10 March. QSL via home calls. [TNX NG3K]
VU     - VU2SWS and other six operators will be active as ATBDW  (a  special
         callsign with no  number)  from  the  island  of  Bet  Dwarka  (Bet
         Shankhodar, AS-175, new  one  for  the  IOTA  programme)  on  17-23
         March. They will be QRV on 80-10 metres CW, SSB and digital  modes.

W      - Peter, VE3IKV will be active as  W4/VA3RA  from  St  Simons  Island
         (NA-058) on 3-4 March and from Key West  (NA-062)  on  5-17  March.

YV     - Homero YV4DHS, Dinorah YY4DEA,  Edgar  YY4ACU  and  Eduardo  YY6CHE
         will be active as YV4AJ/6 from Piritu Island  (SA-090)  during  the
         South American Lighthouses  Weekend    (24-26  February).  QSL  via

ZD7    - Nigel, G3TXF will be active again as ZD7XF from St Helena  (AF-022)
         from 29 February to 13 March. The two main purposes  of  this  trip
         are to take part in  the  RSGB's  Commonwealth  (BERU)  Contest  on
         10-11 March, and to operate as much  as  possible  on  160  and  80
         metres CW. The journey to St Helena is via Ascension Island,  where
         it is expected there will  be  some  occasional  operation  on  the
         higher WARC bands as ZD8XF. QSLs via G3TXF  (bureau  cards  can  be

ZF     - John, AD8J will be active as ZF2AG/ZF8 from Little  Cayman,  Cayman
         Islands (NA-016) on 1-10 March. He  will  operate  CW  and  SSB  on

17TH IOTA DINNER ---> The 17th Annual Islands On The Air (IOTA) Dinner  will
be held on Friday, 20 April 2011, at the Holiday Inn Hotel,  in  conjunction
with   the    63rd    annual    Visalia    International    DX    Convention
(http://dxconvention.org/).  For  additional  information    regarding  this

CQ WW 160-METER DX CONTEST (SSB)  --->  Objective  of  the  contest  is  for
amateurs around the world to work as many US States, Canadian provinces  and
countries as possible on 160 metres SSB (cq160.com/rules.htm).  This  year's
event will run from 22.00 UTC on 24 February through 22.00 UTC on the  26th.

CQIR ---> In 2012 the Irish Radio  Transmitters  Society  (IRTS)  celebrates
its 80th anniversary. As part of the jubilee  celebrations  the  Society  is
organising an international radio contest, "CQIR - Ireland Calling",  to  be
held from 12 UTC on 17 March (Saint Patrick's  Day)  to  11.59  UTC  on  the

DX UNIVERSITY ---> The first session of DX University (DXU) will be held  on
20 April at the Holiday Inn in Visalia, California  [425DXN  1082].  "Places
are limited but there are still a few seats available. Reservations  can  be
made at www.dxuniversity.com. As a bonus we will give away  several  hundred
dollars  of  door  prizes  on  the  day!".  Please   contact    Wayne,  N7NG

MALYJ VYSOTSKIJ DELETED ---> The ARRL announced on 23  February  that  Malyj
Vysotskij Island has been deleted from the DXCC Entity List.  "According  to
the Finnish Ministry of Transportation and Communication, the  Saimaa  Canal
Treaty between Finland and Russia has been  finalized  by  relevant  Finnish
and Russian authorities through ratification. The Treaty  has  entered  into
effect with a date of 17 February 2012.
Malyj Vysotskij Island (MVI), R1M, is no  longer  included  in  the  Treaty.
Thus, MVI will be deleted from the DXCC list as of 17 February 17 and  added
to the Deleted Entities List.
Administratively at HQ, we will not make the necessary changes to  the  DXCC
system until after the final data processing for 2011  is  complete  -  this
includes the tables shown in Logbook of The World.
DXCC members will see their current entity  totals  drop  by  one  on  their
Mixed awards, and on the bands and modes where MVI  credit  is  given.  They
will also see their DXCC Challenge totals drop commensurately".

NEPAL ---> The Daily DX  reports  that  the  following  licences  have  been
issued to nine Nepalese citizens: 9N1GJ  (Ganesh  K.  Gimi),  9N1KK  (Pravin
Joshi),  9N1KS  (Khagda  Sen  Oli),  9N1MM  (yes,  this  is  Father  Moran's
callsign, reissued to Ms. Kalpana Pokharel),  9N1NS  (Ms.  Nisha  Shrestha),
9N1NU (Ms. Niva Upretee), 9N1SP (Sanjeev Pandey), 9N1SS (Surya N.  Shrestha)
and 9N1TN  (Tara  B.  Neupane).  At  the  same  time,  Nepal's  Ministry  of
Information and Communications states that "that the license 9N1II  has  not
been issued to a foreigner or anyone else for that matter".

SOUTH SUDAN ---> On 21 February the  International  Telecommunication  Union
(ITU) assigned the callsign prefix block Z8A-Z8Z to the  Republic  of  South
Sudan.
