3V - Feco, HA8KW will be active holiday style as 3V8SM from Djerba
Island (AF-083) from 26 July to 1 August, including possibly a
12-hour CW entry in the IOTA Contest. He will operate CW only from
the Tunisian Scouts' local club station. QSL for this operation

5H - Byron, KF8UN will go on safari in Tanzania on 2-20 August and will
be QRV as 5H3BB mainly on 20 metres SSB, with maybe some CW and

9A - Tom 9A2AA, Neno 9A5N and Tibi HA3HP will try to operate from 50-60
different Croatian islands between 3 and 11 August. They plan to
be QRV "from early morning to late evening", exact locations will

8Q - Herbert, DL7AHF and Michael, DG8MH are active as 8Q7HF and 8Q7MH
from the Maldives (AS-013) until 11 August. They do not expect to

CT8 - Nuno, CT1EEK will be active as CR1D from Pico Island (EU-175),
Azores from 30 July to 5 August. He will be QRV on 20-10 metres,

CX - A large group of operators from Radiogrupo Sur will be active on
all bands and modes as CV5A from Flores Island (SA-030) and

F - Bastien, F4EYQ and Jean-Francois, F4EYR will be active as TM5KD
from Sein Island (EU-068) on 26-30 July, including an entry in the

F - Geoffrey F4FVI, Johan F4GTD, Pierre F4GXS, Maurice F5NQL, Philippe

G - The Blandford Garrison Amateur Radio Club will operate special
event station GB60KW between 26 July and 4 August to commemorate
the 60th anniversary of the cessation of the Korean War. GB60KW
will be operating using both CW and SSB on the HF bands (plus FM
on the 70cm band) with both vintage and modern radio equipment.

HC - Emanuele, IK2OHG will be active as HC2IOH from Ecuador from 10
August to 12 September. He will operate holiday style on 40-10
metres mainly CW, with some SSB and RTTY. QSL via IK2OHG, direct

I - Alberto, IT9MRM will be active from Isola delle Palme (EU-025,
S029 for the Italian Islands Award) on 5-9 August. On 11 August
look for IT9MRM/p, IT9EJW/p and IW9FRB/p to operate SSB and CW
from Isola Forte Vittoria e Garzia (EU-025, IIA S036). QSL via

J7 - Gerald, WA6POZ will be active as J79GF from Dominica (NA-101) from

KL - Rick, K6VVA has rebooked his fourth attempt at operating from
Barter Island (NA-050) between 31 July and 4 August. "This effort
is to hopefully be QRV on NA-050 during a predicted period of OK
condx and have at 2 days of decent operations", he says. If this
time everything appears to be a 'go', he will make a Twitter post
from the airport by 01.30 UTC on 30 July. Look for K6VVA/KL7 to

HL - Members of the Gwangju DX Club (6L0NJ) will be active as D7G from
Jindo Island (AS-060) from about 6 UTC on 16 August until about 2
UTC on the 18th. They will operate CW, SSB, PSK and RTTY on 80-10

SV - SV8GXQ (SSB) and SV8JTP (PSK) will be active as SX8HOMER from
Chios Island (EU-049) starting on 30 July for 15 days. QSL via

TA - Metin TA1ED, Tevfik TA1HZ, Murat TA1PB, Yasar TA3D and Ali TA7EB
will participate in the IOTA Contest as TC0GI from Gokceada Island
(EU-186). They plan to arrive in the evening of 26 July and depart
48 hours later. The QSL cards will be printed in late December,
and all of the QSOs will be confirmed automatically via the

TK - Laurent, F8BBL will be active as TK13RNB from Corsica from 27 July
to 10 August. He will operate holiday style on 80-10 metres mainly
CW, with some SSB and digital modes, from Cargese, on the main
island (EU-014). Two side trips as TK13RNB/p are planned: on 5
August from the Sangunaires Islands (EU-104, (along with TK/F5OZF
and TK/F5RXL), and on 8 August from Erbaghiolu for the Summits On

UA - RV1AQ/p, RN1AW/p and RA1AKJ/p are active from Peschanyy Island
(EU-117) until 28 July, with participation in the IOTA Contest.

UA - The final plans for the 24-29 July activity from Glov island
(EU-162) [425DXN 1159] are for the operators to be signing
RA1ZZ/p, RA3AV/1, RK3AW/1, RW3QNZ/1, RZ1ZZ/p and UA1ZZ/p before
the IOTA Contest. QSL RA1ZZ/p via RW3XZ, others via home call.
They will then participate in the contest as UA1ZZ/p, and use

V5 - Sergey UX0HX, Max UZ1HZ and Alex UT5UY will be active holiday
style as V5/home calls from Namibia on 1-8 August. They will

VE - Special event station VC2CGJCS will be activated by the Club
Radio Amateur de l'Estrie (VE2RAE) on 2-17 August for the XXIV
Canada Games/Jeux du Canada to be held in Sherbrooke, Quebec. [TNX

VK - Tony, VK3VTH will again be active as VK3VTH/7 from King Island
(OC-233) on 15-18 August. He will operate SSB only on 20 and 40
metres from two different locations, and during the International
Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend his QTH will be at the Currie
Lighthouse. QSL via VK3VTH, direct or bureau ("all QSOs will be
sent appropriate QSL card via the VK3 Bureau immediately after the
activation", he says).
W - The Cape Ann Amateur Radio Association will be active as W1T from
Thacher Island (NA-148) on 2-5 August. QSL via W1GLO (direct),

W - Eric, W4OTN will be QRV holiday style from Hatteras Island
(NA-067) on 4-10 August. "I'll try to be available 6m through 40m,

YB - YB5NOF, YB5QZ, YB9WZJ, YC5RA, YE5WM and possibly a couple of other
operators will be active as YE5T from Tambelan Island (OC-122) and
YE5S from Serasan Island (Natuna Selatan Islands, OC-109). Actual
dates will be announced in due course, the license is good from 26

YB - The YB9Y expedition to Pulau Brassi (OC-276, new one for IOTA)
[425DXN 1156] is now scheduled to take place on 20-28 October.
While Steve W2FB is organizing fundraising from NA/EU (Paypal
sbusono[@[gmail.com), Shu JN6RZM (jn6rzm[@]nifty.com) will collect
Paypal donations to help providing a linear amplifier from 30 July
until 31 August. It is also possibile to donate directly at the

CROATIA 28TH EU STAR AWARD ---> Issued by the Croatian Amateur Radio
Association (HRS), this award celebrates the accession of Croatia to the

H44IOTA ---> Reference the notice posted on the IOTA website on 25 June
[425DXN 1156], "we have noted the subsequent posting on the H44IOTA qrz.com
website to the effect that a validation of OC-168 'may not be possible due
to computer hardware failure and human error'. This is indeed the case as
we understand that with the non-availability of the logs for the land-based
part of this operation, QSOs cannot of course be confirmed for IOTA. Should
the missing logs become available, we will reconsider the position. In the
meantime we can confirm that we have accepted documentation showing
land-based operations from OC-149, OC-047 and OC-158 and credits will be
given for valid cards submitted. As a reminder, operations by yachtsmen
with on-board amateur radio stations present IOTA Management with
particular challenges with regard to rule compliance and they are routinely
asked to provide validation in accordance with the detailed requirements
outlined in Section F of the IOTA Directory Rules. In the case of the
recent H44IND operation and forthcoming H40IOTA ones it is suggested that
until acceptable validation is reported as having been received, the
