5H - Chas, NK8O will be active again as 5H3DX from Zinga, Tanzania from
22 October to 12 November. In his spare time he will be QRV on 80-
15 metres mainly CW, with some PSK31 and maybe some SSB. QSL via

8Q - Dan, 4Z5SL will operate SSB and PSK as 8Q7DK from the Maldives
(AS-013) on 15-23 October. QSL via LoTW.
9N - Bogdan SP2FUD (9N7FD), Zenek SP2GCJ (9N7ZT), Kazik SP6AXW (9N7XW)
and Janusz SP9FIH (9N7WE) will be active from Nepal during the
second half of October. They plan to concentrate on working North

CT8 - On 12-17 October Martti, OH2BH (CU2KG and CR2BH) "will jump to the
Azores and put his signal on the air specifically for the October
15-16 weekend while converting the world renown CR2X site to its

CT8 - Miguel, EA1BP will be active as CT8/EA1BP from Graciosa Island (EU-
175) on 27-30 October. He will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB

EI - Olivier, ON4EI will be active again as EI8GQB from Fethard, Ireland
(EU-115) between 8 October and 3 November using an hybrid wind-
solar power system from his caravan. He will participate in the
Worked All Germany (15-16 October) and CQ WW DX SSB Contests as

F - Special event callsign TM85VGC will be in use from 30 October to
13 November to celebrate the eighth edition of the Vendee Globe,
which will set sail from Les Sables d'Olonne on 6 November. QSL via

round-the-world single-handed yacht race that is sailed non-stop

FK - The ARANC (Association des Radio Amateurs en Nouvelle-Caledonie)
club station in Noumea (OC-032), New Caledonia will be active as
TX8JOTA on 14-16 October during the 57th Jamboree On The Air. Main

BP 3956, 98846 Noumea CEDEX, New Caledonia) or eQSL.
HA - HA0HW and HA9PP will be active as HG30EUDXF until the end of the
year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the European DX

OE - Also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the European DX Foundation
is Jo, OE4VIE, who is active as OE30EUDXF until 31 December. QSL

OH0 - Juha/OH1ND, Martti/OH2BH and Ville/OH2MM (PY2ZEA) are active as
OH0B from the Aland Islands (EU-002) through 9 October, including
participation in the Scandinavian Activity Contest (SSB). QSL via

OJ0 - Toivo/ES2RR, Martti/OH2BH and Pertti/OH2PM will be active as OJ0B
from Market Reef (EU-053) on 23-30 October, including participation
in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. Outside the contest they will focus on
the low bands and RTTY. QSL via OH2BH. This - as well as CR2BH and
OH0B - are "BOTA (Birthday On The Air) activities: DXCC counters at
which Martti and his close friends have once gotten excited over
and made them active with a major frequent presence". In November
Martti will celebrate his 70th birthday in the Caribbean, with
activity from Antigua (V26BH) and Dominica (J70BH) for the week of

PY - Special event station ZY3WCP will be active on 21-25 October to
celebrate the 156th anniversary of the city of Cacapava do Sul in
the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Sul. Activity will be on 80,

SP - Special event station SN4KIDS will be active on all bands and modes
from 14 October to 13 November for the Hams4KIDS initiative, aimed
at collecting funds to help UNICEF in its fight against child
malnutrition. For every unique QSO with the station, the organizers
will donate 2 cents to UNICEF. QSL via Club Log's OQRS. Detailed
information about the fundraising mechanism, including real-time
statistics, will be available at the Hams4KIDS website, to be

T8 - Takeo, JR1GSE will be active as T8TH from Koror (OC-009), Palau on
28-31 October, CQ WW DX SSB Contest included. QSL via home call,

UR - Special event station EM20UCRF will be active on 10-30 October to
celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian State Centre of
Radio Frequencies (UCRF). QSL via UT3UZ. [TNX UT3UZ]
VE - Pierre, VE3KTB and Alex, VE1RUS will be active again as VY0ERC from
the Eureka Amateur Radio Club station at the weather station on
Ellesmere Island (NA-008) between 25 October and 14 November. In
their spare time they will operate SSB and digital modes on 20
metres and hopefully also on 40, 17 and 15 metres. QSL via M0OXO's

VP2E - VP2EGR is the callsign that DL7DF and his team will use during
their operation from Anguilla [425DXN 1325]. They will operate CW,

operate CW, SSB and RTTY on 40-15 metres with two or three

T31T ---> The T31T team [425DXN 1322] began operations from Kanton Island
(OC-043), Central Kiribati on 5 October around 21 UTC. They expect to
remain there for 4-6 weeks. QSL via Club Log's OQRS.

+ SILENT KEY + Former ARRL DXCC and Awards Manager Bill Moore, NC1L passed
away on 6 October at 64 years of age. On 3 July 2014 he was seriously
injured in a single-car accident that left him paralyzed from the chest
down. A few months later he decided to relinquish his position at ARRL HQ,
where he had worked since 1992. Condolences may be send to Bill's wife:
