3X    -  Sebastien, F8DQZ is  active as  3XD02/P from  Kassa Island  (AF-051)
          until 19-20 April. He will  then move to  Guinea Bissau and  operate
          until 4 May. QSL via home call. [TNX La Gazette du DX]
4X     - Special station 4X55I, commemorating the 55th anniversary of Israeli
          indipendence, will be  active until 10  May, including  an entry  in
          this week's Holyland Contest. QSL via 4Z4SZ. [TNX 4Z4KX]
9A     - Claudio, IN3DEI  will  be active  as  9A/IN3DEI from  Pulari  Island
          (EU-110) on  18-27  April. QSL  via  home  call  (Claudio  Daddario,
          P.O.Box 1, Succ. P.T. n. 10, 39100 Bolzano BZ, Italy)
9A     - Look for 9A/IK0GDG/P to be active from Palagruza Island (EU-090)  on
          20-21 April. QSL via home call. [TNX I0OWO]
CT     - Special call CS5E will be aired on 10, 15 and 20 metres SSB from the
          lighthouse at Cabo  Raso (ARLHS  POR-011, FES-04  for the  Portugese
          Lighthouses Award) on 25 April. [TNX CT1END]
DL     - DF3UFW, DL2DRO, DL2DSL,  DL8WQQ, DL2LCE, DK5NOA  and DL8DZL will  be
          active from  Usedom Island  (EU-129, O-013  for the  German  Islands
          Award) from 25 April to 3 May. On 1 May they might go on a side trip
          to Ruden Island (O-011). QSL via bureau. [TNX DL2VFR]
F      - The operation by  F5JOT, F5LGQ and  F6CKH from  the Chausey  Islands
          (EU-039) [425DXN 611] has been postponed and will take place from 26
          April to 2 May. [TNX F6AJA]
FO     - Look for Fabien, FO/F8CFU [425DXN 623]  to be active from Hao  Atoll
          (OC-066), French Polynesia from 20  April to 5  May and from  Tubuai
          Island (OC-152), Austral Islands on 6-16 May. He will operate on 10,
          12, 15, 17, 20 and 30 metres  with a 2-element and dipoles. [TNX  La

G      - Lightship "Planet" (www.barlightvessel.org.uk) callsign GB2LBL  will
          be on the air on 18-21 April from 0900-1600 UTC on all bands CW  and
          SSB. QSL via M0CMW. [TNX M0CMW]
GD     - Phil, G4OBK will operate as GD4OBK/P  from near Andreas (WAB  square
          NX40) in the north part of the Isle of  Man from 27 April to 2  May.
          He expects to be QRV for an hour or two every day on 40-10 metres CW
          and  RTTY.  QSL   via  home  call.   Logs  will   be  available   at

GM     - Calderdale  Raynet   Group  members   Alan/G4MUR,  Colin/G8EXN   and
          Alan/G3TAY will  be active  as MM0CRG  from the  island of  Colonsay
          (EU-008) from 26 April to 1 May. All stations worked will be sent  a
          QSL card via  the RSGB  bureau; direct  cards should  be routed  via
          G3TAY. [TNX VA3RJ]
JA     - Takeshi, JI3DST  will  be active  as  JI3DST/6  from  Miyako  Island
          (AS-079) from 26 April to 5 May. He will operate on 17, 15, 12,  10,
          6 and  2 metres  SSB.  QSL via  home  call, preferably  through  the

KH9    - Jake, N6XIV  will  once again  operate  from  Wake  Island  (OC-053)
          starting on or about 19 April. At this point he expects to stay  for
          at least  30  days, with  the  possibility of  up  to 60  days.  His
          operating time(s)  will be  limited due  to his  work  requirements.
          However, Jake will try to operate on multiple bands. Glenn, K2FF and
          Bob, W6FRH will help with  piloting duties. QSL  via K2FF direct  or

OZ     - Jakob, OZ7AEI/p will operate from Jegindo Island (EU-171, NJ-006 for
          the Danish Islands Award) on  19 April starting  around 11 UTC.  QSL

S9     - Look for  Duarte, CT1CPP  to be  active as  S92UN  from Sao  Tome  &
          Principe for the next three months. Suggested frequencies are 14270,
          21270 and 28470 kHz SSB. QSL via home call. [TNX CT1END]
SM     - Leif, SM0FWW reports he will be  active from Kloeveroen (EU-043)  on
          18-20  April.  QSL  via  bureau  or  direct  to  Leif  B.  Lindgren,
          Brantingsgatan 54, Stockholm SE-11535, Sweden.
UA     - The RZ6AZZ team  (namely UA6AMB, RU6AX,  RX6AH, RW6CT, RA6AX,  UA6MF
          and RA6AU)  will be  active on  10-40 metres  CW  and SSB  from  two
          islands located in the Caspian Sea  on 23-28 April. Look for  UE6IKI
          to be aired from Morskoy Ivan Karaul (not IOTA, RRA-new, RDA  KM-05)
          and for UE6IAA to be used from Morskaya Chapura (not IOTA,  RRA-new,
          RDA KM-05). Team members  may also be  active with their  individual
          calls. QSL UE6IKI and UE6IAA via RA6AU. [TNX RZ3EC]
UR     - Special event  station EM13UCC  will be  active  on 16-29  April  to
          celebrate the 13th  anniversary of the  Ukrainian Contest Club.  QSL

VE     - The Ontario QSO Party takes place on 19-20 April (18 UTC on Saturday
          to 18 UTC on Sunday) and  amongst the activities there is a  contest
          operation from Manitoulin  Island (CISA ON-001)  by the  Mississauga
          Amateur   Radio   Club   station   VE3MIS.   Complete   details   at

W      - Jay, AE4MK  will  be  vacationing  on  Estero  Island  (NA-069,  USI
          FL-035S) from  20  to  24 April.  Depending  on  weather  and  bands
          conditions, he may  also go and  operate from a  few nearby  islands
          such as Black, Long Key, Big  & Little Hickory and Lovers Key.  [TNX

W      - Lee, W4ALZ will be active (on  20, 15 and  10 metres) from  Hatteras
          Island (NA-067, USI NC-005S) on 21-24 April. QSL to Lee Zehmer, 2321

YB     - Irfan, YC4FIJ will be active as  YC4FIJ/P from Utan Island on  18-20
          April. He will operate on 15  metres SSB only. Utan is located  near

DIE CONTEST --->  The 9th edition  of the  DIE Contest  for working  stations
located on Spanish islands will be held from 6 to 12 UTC on 22 June. The  DIE
Contest software is available from  Paco, EA5OL (http://www.ea5ol.net).  [TNX

IRAQ ---> Reports  on US Military  personnel operating as  YI/home call  from
Iraq include Jim Dunkerton,  YI/KT4CK and Mark  Smith, YI/NG5L. Wayne  Mills,
N7NG (ARRL Membership Services Manager) says that "the League will accept for
DXCC credit YI/  operations from  Iraq by  US or  British military  personnel
provided the operator has written permission from his/her commanding officer,
until an interim Iraqi government is  in place". After that point,  operators
would need  documented  permission from  Iraqi  authorities.  [TNX  The  ARRL

PIRATE ---> Joe, W3HNK has been receiving cards for QSO with 9V1SM on 12m CW.
Please note that  Sasi, 9V1SM  operates only  on PSK31  and SSB.  If you  did

QSL 5W1RA ---> Please  note that Tom,  N6RA used this  call back in  November
1990 and has  nothing to  share with  the current  5W1RA. The  call has  been
reissued to Rich, KB7KET who has been on a missionary assignment in Samoa for
the last three months. The QSL route for the current 5W1RA is being arranged.

QSL EP6KI ---> Phil, G4WFZ reports he has now finished processing all of  the
direct QSL requests for EP6KI (AS-166) received so far. He will make a  start
on the bureau cards as soon as he has the time.

QSL EU-169 ---> Alfredo, IK7JWX reports that he expects to mail the QSL cards
for ZA0IS and ZA0/IK7JWX (Sazan Island, December 2002) this coming week.

QSL ZA/LY2MM ---> All direct requestst  will be processed  within the end  of
April. Bureau cards  will have  to wait  until summer   due  to Al's,  LY2MM,

QSL VIA F5OGL ---> The Daily DX reports that Didier has received several logs
for the late Jean-Claude, F2XX (TR8XX and TR8JJC) and is now able to  confirm
the following QSOs:

         25 Aug 1984 - 12 Jun 1986
          1 Aug 1988 - 26 Sep 1988
TR8JJC: 22 Sep 1986 - 10 Jul 1988

YK1BA ---> Saad, N5FF has postponed his planned operation from Syria  [425DXN
619] due to the current overall situation  in the Middle East. "No firm  date
has been set for my trip  yet, but it's possible to take  place in couple  of
weeks or so, and it may  even be postponed till later on  in the year".  [TNX

+ SILENT KEY + Victor Rivera,  ZK1CG reports the sad news  of the passing  of
Tuatai Tupou, ZK1MA (from Rarotonga)/ZK1CY (from  Manihiki), who became a  SK
in Australia on 12 April.

LOGS::  The LLDXT DXpedition to the  Faroe Islands "had  lots of fights  with
         the propagation and  the high winds"  and managed to  log 26964  QSOs
         (14041 CW, 11054 SSB,  1532 RTTY, 300  PSK and 37  SSTV) in 10  days.
