9A     - Look for 9A60K/p, 9A0LH and 9A7K  to be aired from several  Croatian
         islands and  lighthouses  between  17  and  23  August.  During  the
         International  Lighthouse/Lightship  Weekend  expect  activity  from
         Susak Island (EU-136) and lighthouse. QSL for all contacts via 9A7K.

BY     - Vange, BD7KLO plans to operate from Pingtan Island (BY5, AS-138)  on
         23-26  August.  QSL   via  home   call,  direct   or  bureau.   [TNX

EA6    - EA6ZX, EA6AFB, EB6AGX and LU6EPR will  be active as ED6URB from  the
         lighthouse De la Mola during the ILLW. They will operate SSB on  all
         bands. QSL direct to EA6ZX. [TNX EA6/LU6EPR]
GM     - Glyn, GW0ANA will be cruising the  Outer Hebrides (EU-010) on  18-28
         August. He will be there on  holiday with friends and amateur  radio
         activity will be secondary, but "I  will try my hardest to  activate
         as many as  I can", he  says. He also  hopes to  activate St.  Kilda
         (EU-059). His call will be GM0ANA/p and he will operate SSB using an
         inverted V with battery power from a solar panel. QSL via home call.

HB9    - HB9DLO, HB9DWR, HB9HLI, HB9OMI, HB9ONN and HB9AFI will be active  as
         HB9LH during the ILLW. They plan to operate SSB and CW from a couple
         of Swiss lighthouses  (ARLHS SWI-003 and  SWI-004). QSL via  HB9DLO.

HL     - Song/6K2BWA, Lee/DS2GWM, Kwon/DS2GXU, Cho/DS2LLD and Kim/HL2CFY will
         be active as HL0LPM/3 from Taenanji Island (AS-080) on 19-21 August.
         They plan to operate CW, SSB  and RTTY on  160-6 metres, using  beam
         antennas and  amplifiers. QSL  via 6K2BWA,  direct or  bureau.  [TNX

I      - Look for IU1L  to be aired  again from La  Lanterna (ARLHS  ITA-177,
         WAIL LI-005) during  the ILLW  on 18-19  August. QSL  via bureau  or

I      - Operators from ARI Fano and the  Adriatic DX Team will be active  as
         IQ6FU/p from Fano Lighthouse (WAIL MA-005, ARLHS ITA-065) during the
         ILLW. QSL via  bureau or direct  to P.O. Box  35, 61032  Fano -  PU,
         Italy. [TNX IZ6ASI]
I      - Look for  I6/IZ0DIB/p,  I6/IZ4IUS/p, IK6YXM/p,  IK6XGM/p,  IZ6ASI/p,
         IK6VGO/p, IK6OSZ/p,  IK6UBY/p, IK6XOU/p  and IK6EFU/p  to be  active
         from Senigallia  Lighthouse (ARLHS  ITA-181,  WAIL MA-004)  for  the
         ILLW. Expect them to operate CW,  SSB and digital  modes on 10,  15,
         20, 40 and 80 metres. [TNX IZ6ASI]
LU     - The Digital MDQ DX Group and  the Radio Club  Mar del Plata  (LU2DT)
         will participate in the  ILLW from the  lighthouse at Punta  Mogotes
         (ARLHS ARG-005). They plan to operate  SSB on 40 and 80 metres,  and
         PSK31 on 10, 15, 17, 20 and 40 metres. QSL to P.O. Box 664, 7600 Mar

LU     - Jorge/LU4WG, Pedro/LU7WW and Juan/LU4WP will participate in the ILLW
         from the lighthouse at Punta Ninfas (ARG-055). They plan to  operate
         SSB,  digital  modes  and  possibily  CW   on  160-10  metres.   QSL

OH     - OH1BOI, OH1VL and OH1JJO will be active as OH1AV/2 from Vormo Island
         (EU-097) on 17-19  August. QSL via  OH1BOI, direct  or bureau.  [TNX

OZ     - Ric, DL2VFR will be  active as OZ/DL2VFR  from Romo Island  (EU-125)
         from 26 August to 1 September. He plans to operate on all HF  bands,
         mostly CW. QSL via home call. [TNX www.rsgbiota.org]
SM     - Hans, SM0BYD and others will be active as 7S0SFJ for the ILLW.  They
         will operate CW and SSB  on 80, 40,  30, 20 and  17 metres from  the
         Museum Lightship Finngrundet (SWE-043) in Stockholm. QSL via SM0BYD,
         bureau preferred. [TNX SM0BYD]
SM     - Jorgen/SM3CXS,  Classe/SM3GSK,   Staffan/SM3JGG,   Sten/SM3NXS   and
         Anders/SM3XGV will  be active  from  Grimskar Island  (EU-176)  from
         about 17 UTC on  24 August until  about 12 UTC  on the 26th.  Expect
         them to be signing SD3N (QSL via SM3NXS, bureau or direct) and  SG3U
         (QSL via SM3CXS, bureau or direct) on 80-10 metres CW and SSB.  [TNX

UA     - Jack/RW3QC, Valery/RZ6AU,  Yuri/RU6UR  and Alexander/RA6UF  will  be
         active as UE6UFO from the Kharabalinsky  district (RDA AO-16) and  a
         few inland islands (http://www.hamradio.ru/rrc/AWARDS/riia_e.htm) on
         20-27 August. They  plan to  operate SSB  and CW  on 40,  20 and  15
         metres. All  of the  QSOs will  be confirmed  automatically via  the

YV     - The Association  of  Radioamateurs of  Venezuela  and the  Grupo  DX
         Caracas will  be active  as YW5AS  from  Las Aves  Islands  (SA-051)
         [425DXN 847] on 27-31 August. They will operate SSB, CW and  digital
         modes on the HF bands, plus VHF FM. QSL via DL3AMA. [TNX YV5EED]

ILLW & IOTA ---> The ILLW guidelines require that the station must be "at" or
"adjacent" to the light. Adjacent means  next to or as  close as possible  in
the field next door.  Rules about 'line  of sight' or  'within 1000m' do  not
apply to  this event.  Several stations  participating in  the  International
Lighthouse/Lighthsip Weekend  (18-19  August) will  be  operating  from  IOTA
islands: just  to  name  a  few,  7S6LGT  (EU-043),  7S6TL  (EU-043),  8S6LGT
(EU-043), 8S6LL (EU-043), CU8AS (EU-089), GB1SL (EU-124), GC4BRS/p  (EU-124),
LA1G (EU-061), SK2AU (EU-135), VK2LSB/4  (OC-137), VK3ILH/7 (OC-233),  ZS1RBI

ARCTIC CHALLENGE --->  The French Polar  Team has announced  a new  programme
called "The Arctic  Challenge" for working  amateur radio  stations from  the

DP0MSM ---> This is the official  callsign of the amateur radio club  station
on board the "Maria S. Merian",  a German research  vessel that is  currently
voyaging from Longyearyben  (Svalbard) to Kiel  (Germany). The crew  includes
four  licenced  amateurs   (Frank/DJ3FR,  Martin/DL7ARY,  Hermann/DH1HP   and
Steffen/DF1MSM). DP0MSM can be used only when the ship is outside the 12-mile
belt of territorial  waters, otherwise  the crew  members have  to use  their
personal callsigns /mm. The QSL cards for DP0MSM can be sent through the DARC

MEMORIAL UA4IF --->  Special callsigns R100AK  and R100IF (QSL  for both  via
RW4HB, direct or bureau) are being used to commemorate the 100th  anniversary
of the birth of amateur radio veteran Alexander Kamalagin, UA4IF. Information

NCDXC --->  Recently the  Northern California  DX  Club (NCDXC)  elected  the
following officers for the 2007/2008  year: John Eisenberg/K6YP  (President);

Jones/N6SJ   (Treasurer);   Phil   Steffora/K6PTS   (DXer   Editor);    Risto

Churchill/KG6AM (Directors).
The Northern  California  DX Club  was  the sponsor  of  this  year's  highly
successful Visalia DX  Convention. The club  is continuing the  theme of  the
convention ("Elmering New DXers is Job #1) with presentations oriented to new
DXers at the  club meetings  in addition  to the  periodic DXpedition  talks.

OPERATORS NEEDED FOR TI9 ---> A DXpedition to Cocos Island (NA-012) is  being
organized to take place for six days  in February 2008. SSB, CW and  digimode
operators are  being  sought; details  can  be found  at  www.ti9.eu.com  and

QSL 5X4A & 5X4B --->  Tom, DL8AAM says  that "a great  part" of the  original
paper logs went lost during the civil war in northern Uganda, where 5X4A  and
5X4B were located.  Tom has a  large box of  QSL requests he  is not able  to
reply to, and,  after ten years,  there is not  much hope  to retrieve  those
logs.

QSL PY5EG --->  After more  than ten  years, Mac/W3HC  is no  longer the  QSL
manager for Atilano de Oms, PY5EG (aka PY2OMS, ZW5B, PS2T). The new QSL route
for all of his callsigns and  operations is via  K3IRV (Irv McWherter,  11910
Coronada Pl, Kensington, MD 20895-2323, USA). [TNX K3IRV]

QSL TM7A  --->  Please note  that  F8BBL is  the  QSL manager  only  for  the
operation that  took place  in  May 2003  from  Banc d'Arguin  (EU-159).  The
callsign was reissued and used again  from 24 February to  9 March 2007.  The
QSL routes  for contacts  made this  year are  via F5RPB  (bureau) and  F5PSC

YO DX CONTEST ---> The Romanian Amateur Radio Federation (FRR) invites  radio
amateurs worldwide to participate in the annual YO DX HF Contest, which  will
