5X     - Graham, 5X1GS is back on the bands after a  couple  of  months.  He
         has remodelled his antenna farm, with beams, slopers for 40 and  80
         metres and a full size Carolina Windom 160. QSL  via  WB2YQH.  [TNX
9Q     - Philippe, F5LTB will be leaving the Democratic  Republic  of  Congo
         on 20 December and will go QRT as 9Q1TB on  the  19th.  Until  then
         some limited activity will take place from his  work  QTH,  as  his
         home station is being dismantled. Look for him around 14114 kHz  at
         between 6.30-7.00 UTC and  around  21188  kHz  between  15.30-16.00
         UTC. Philippe's next work assignment will be  in  the  United  Arab
         Emirates, starting on 18 January. QSL via SM5DJZ. [TNX F5NQL]
CO     - T47C is the callsign that Ed, CO7PH and possibily  other  operators
         will use  during  their  16-21  December  activity  for  Cayo  Coco
         (NA-086) [425DXN 915]. Plans are to operate  mainly  CW  with  some
         SSB on 160-10 metres. QSL via W3HNK. [TNX CO7PH]
CX     - Bad weather  conditions  caused  the  November  activity  from  San
         Gabriel Island (SA-057) [425DXN 914] to be postponed.  It  has  now
         been  rescheduled  to  take  place  on  13  December.  A  group  of
         operators from the Sacramento Radio Club (CX2FAA)  will  be  active
         as CX1F on 80, 40,20, 15, 10 and 2 metres. QSL to P.O.  Box  39073,

E4     - Vinicio/IK2CIO,   Simone/IZ0BTV,  Aurelio/IZ0EGM,   Giorgio/IZ4AKS,
         Massimo/IZ4DPV, Pasquale/IZ8IYX and Les/SP3DOI will  be  active  as
         E44M from Palestine on 1-11 January. They will have three  stations
         active on all bands and  modes,  with  beams,  verticals  and  wire
         antennas. Plans are  to  concentrate  on  RTTY  and  other  digital
         modes, on the low bands as well as on 30, 17 and 12 metres, and  to
         focus on working stations outside Europe. QSL via  IZ0BTV,  direct,

E5     - Lars, SM6CUK is active as E51CUK  from  Rarotonga  (OC-013),  South
         Cook Islands until 9 December.  He  operates  CW  only  on  the  HF
         bands, 160 metres excluded. QSL via home call,  direct  or  bureau.

KC4_ant- Adam, K2ARB will be active as KC4/K2ARB,  CE9/K2ARB  and/or  VP8DKF
         from Patriot Hills Camp and surrounding areas, Antarctica  (AN-016)
         from 16 December to 30 January. He plans to  operate  CW,  SSB  and
         PSK31  when  workload    permits.    Adam    has    a    blog    at

PY     - A state of emergency has been declared in the  Brazilian  state  of
         Santa Catarina, recently hit hard by  flooding.  Consequently,  the
         6-13 December ZV5Z &  ZV5V  activity  from  Ilha  da  Paz  (SA-027)
         [425DXN 915] has been cancelled.  A  new  date,  hopefully  in  the
         first months of 2009, will be announced in due course. [TNX PY2NQ]
W      - Rick, NE8Z will be signing NE8Z/4 from Lido Key  (NA-034)  on  7-14
         December. He plans  to  operate  CW  and  SSB  on  the  usual  IOTA

W      - Bodo, DL3OCH will be active (on 40-15 metres  CW)  as  KT3Q/4  from
         Key Biscayne (NA-141) on 12-26 December. He also plans  to  operate
         from other IOTA groups (NA-052, NA-062, NA-069 and/or NA-138).  QSL

XU     - John, 9M6XRO will be active as XU7XRO from  Kompong  Som,  Cambodia
         on 10-18 December. He plans to operate CW, SSB and RTTY  on  160-10

YV     - The YW1TI expedition to Toas Island (SA-066) [425DXN  915]  is  now
         expected to take place on 9-14 December. The large  team  plans  to
         operate on all bands CW, SSB and possibly  RTTY.  QSL  via  IT9DAA.

BANGLADESH ---> Belayet Robin, S21RB, General Secretary  of  the  Bangladesh
Amateur Radio League reports that amateur radio license tests in  Bangladesh
have re-started after four years. A test was conducted on 27  November,  and
62 out of 84 candidates passed successfully. [TNX www.qrz.com]

CQ DX MARATHON ---> Each year, from 1 January to 31  December,  CQ  Magazine
sponsors a challenge to work as many countries and zones as possible in  the
calendar year. The 2008 edition of the CQ Magazine DX  Marathon  ends  soon,
but there is still time to fill in some missing  countries  and  zones.  For

DESECHEO 2009 ---> The Documentary Archive Radio Communication  provides  on
its  website  (www.dokufunk.org)  a  special  coverage  of  the  forthcoming
DXpedition to Desecheo: a first  exclusive  interview  with  Co-Team  Leader
Glenn Johnson, W0GJ, and extensive background information on  this  and  all
previous KP5 expeditions. Further interviews before, during, and  after  the

DXCC NEWS ---> WA2YUN/KH9 (Wake Island, operation commencing  2007),  VK9DWX
(Willis Islands, 2008 operation) and VU4RG (Andaman & Nicobar Islands,  2008
